Legion Lodge 8634

The Lodge of Loyalty has a very strong relationship with Legion lodge thanks initially to W Bro David Williams and the late W Bro George willis, who on finding the number 8634, i.e., one below ours and beimg as close as Newcastle, made contact and went on a visit on 16th May 1977 with a small delegation. A return visit then took plave in April 1978 and since then reciprocal vists have taken place each and every year with numbers from each lodge always being in attendance at each installation. The set months every year for fraternal visits are for Legion to come to Sunderland in April and for us to go to Newcastle in June.                                                                                                     

Many strong frienships have been made over these years and although their is much banter about the two opposing football teams the strength of the bond between the two Lodges is unbreakable. Great admiration and respect is held amongst all the brethren.                    

Twice in the past, ceremonies have been carried out by our Lodges at the others venue and it is hoped that at some time in the future this may be done again.
